Top 5 Flat Stomach Myths
Get a Flat Stomach in Three days

This is not possible, I’m sure even the most jaded individuals would raise an eyebrow at this statement but this will not stop crooked unscrupulous individuals from making claims they cannot support. If you want a flat stomach ASAP please do not fall prey to these rip-offs.

Eat Junk Food and Get a Flat Stomach

The truth is just as you cannot get a flat stomach in one week or less. If you eat lots of junk the weight will inevitably pile on, and it will be harder to burn stomach fat.

As junk food also has poor nutritional value, as part of a good flat stomach diet ‘poor nutritional value foods’ has to be eliminated as losing stomach fat and gaining muscle are both necessary to obtaining a toned stomach. If all we try to do is build abs without burning our body fat even if we have great abs no one will notice if it is covered with a thick layer of fat.

Spot Toning

Spot toning doesn’t work. No matter how many flat stomach exercises you do it is unlikely to see results unless you reduce your overall body fat percentage.

A combination of cardio, and stomach workouts as well as a good eating plan is needed to raise the metabolism and lose stomach fat. I discovered this whilst trying to spot train after my holiday break as I had piled on the pounds, I resumed my stomach workout to find no improvement after weeks of intensive abs exercises so I found that the key to losing stomach fat lies in knowing what determines you metabolic rate and how you can improve it.

Quantity Over Quality

Doing a few good quality crunches is much better then hundreds of poor quality ab crunches. Poor technique can lead to injury so make sure if you are a beginner to look at how it is done.

Low Fat Food ranges

Stay away from low fat, ‘good for you’ ranges that are infact bad for your health. For example a yogurt claiming to be low in fat may be loaded with sugar or a product ‘low in fat’ may be high in salt to compensate for the fat shortage so the taste is not comprised and the consumer is under a misconception that what they are eating is good for them when it is far from healthy.

It took me a while before I wised up and gave up on fat free yogurts.
